We got an early start out of Schenectady with some mist still on the water, hoping to arrive at lock E8 as close to their 7 AM opening as possible.

We again pushed for as much distance as we could reasonably cover, passing through Amsterdam and Little Falls.

Knowing that we wouldn’t make it to lock E19 before closing time at 5PM now that we were in the speed limited section of the canal and cruising around 6.5 – 7 kts, we settled down for the night in the town of Ilion, NY after about 10.5 hours of travel time.
Unfortunately, late in the day of traveling, one of the buttons on my trim switch stopped working. So after arrival in Ilion I wired a temporary fix and ordered a new switch assembly to install at the end of the trip.
